Piadina Queen

The story of piadina starts from a revolutionary farm woman in Emilia-Romagna,  who bought a humble flat bread for farmers into the cities of Emilia-Romagna making a truly famous delicacy. 

Soon, piadinas were filled with fresh produce provided by the other vendors; local cheeses like squacquerone, caciotta, prosciutto, and salami as well as fresh tomatoes, rocket and various greens.

Today, you will find Piadina Kiosks called  “Piadinerias” in every street corner of the region making one of the most famous Italian street foods.

In Italy, piadinas are also enjoyed as aperitivo on cheese platters and are usually accompanied by a glass of local Sangiovese wine.


There is nothing quite like it. Yes, it is technically a type of flat bread and the the Italian version of the Greek Pita, or Turkish Gozleme. The mix of quality ingredients is such that the depth of flavour, the texture, and the tase is uniquely Italian.


Piadina SnackUndercooking – Piadina needs to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. To avoid undercooking,  pre-heat your pan to medium high temperature and heat your piadina on each side for 1 minute each (or until crispy)

For sandwich press, Slice your piadina in half and fill with your favourite ingredients then press for 2 minutes or until crispy. Good things take time and patience - Rome wasn’t built in a day after all.

Born from a passion for tradition, Piadina Queen is a new company established in the Northern Beaches of Sydney that are making piadinas following the authentic recipe from Ravenna (Italy).

According to Michele Testi, the founder of Piadina Queen: "the piadina is not just a simple bread, it is a complete meal and enhances the flavours you put within". With the brand Piadina Queen wants to pays homage to the revolutionary women of Emilia-Romagna who played a pivotal role in making Italy’s heart of gastronomy.
